Weight Lifting Tips

1. Make sure you begin your exercise session with general warm-up, followed by more specific exercises to prepare your body for vigorous exertion. Aerobic exercise, followed by a light lifting routine which goes through the range of motion of your planned more dynamic routine can be a great way to start.

2. Include whole body, multi-joint exercises and large muscle groups first, followed by smaller muscle groups or single-joint exercises.

3. The end of your training session is an ideal time for high rep endurance routines like core work, as well as range of motion work (“stretching.”) It is easier to increase range of motion after the body is thoroughly warmed up, rather than as a starting point.

This is also a great time to take off your weight training gloves and let them begin to dry for your next workout.
